An example of short-term fade is driving on a curvy road, such as coming down a mountain. Riding the brakes will heat up the pads and rotors, making them less responsive.
As im driving out of the front driver side the car has this REALLY loud knocking sound like it sounds like what the brake caliper would sound like hitting one of the spokes on the wheel (thats not it cause the caliper paint is still fine). Whenever i apply the brakes it stops completely.

I used to hear the same noise with my truck when first backing out of the driveway in the morning. It could be my imagination but since letting the truck roll back a few feet in neutral (driveway is at a slight incline) then stopping to put it in reverse the noise seems to have vanished. I haven't heard it in 4 years.

The smaller the bump, the more rapid the knocking sound - as if larger bumps cause initial contact and then whatever parts are making the noise remain in contact, while smaller bumps allow the parts to repeatedly bounce off one another. Could just be a bad sway bar mount bushing.

Worn suspension parts can also be a cause of a knocking sound when braking. The "lower control arm" bushings can wear to the point of actually tearing apart, and then the whole front wheel assembly can move back and forth when you brake and accelerate. This will cause knocking when you brake and go over certain bumps.
The culprit could be bad tie rods if the knocking sound is accompanied by a loose or wobbly steering wheel when brakes are applied. Tie rods keep the front tires running in the same direction, and are connected to the wheels by an articulating bearing, which pivots to allow an arc-shape movement of the front wheels.
Most common booster failures are, a lack of assistance, noise or poor pedal return after release. Often a good booster is mis-diagnosed as bad. Needlessly replacing a good booster often occurs. To function properly, the brake booster needs a good source of a vacuum.
